Trading in a Trend – Stock Trading Course
Traders love a good trend . Everyone wants to have one, one that’s their own, and it’s understandable , because a good trend can bring in a lot of money.
How should you trade a trend? Various tactices can be used. Some of the older traders believe trends happen to be easy because any plan is going to work . Since prices are going in just one direction , even if you have a poor trade position when you enter , this won’t matter, since the trend will bail you out in the end . Some truth is there within this maxim, but many refinements can be brought into trend trading.
One thing learned by market analysts is that stock trading course how to recognize a trend as early in its existence as possible , and the trend definition by Drummond Geometry, based on the relationship between the close and the Pldot , allows us to do this. You’ll probably remember that three closes on a side of the Pldot as a definition defines a trend . You’re in a trend after the third close .
There is importance to this because a trend’s most lucrative and best part often occurs early on, when it gets its start . After you recognize a trend the thing is to hang with it as long as it exists . If your trading situation permits , you want to add to your position by pyramiding , so that as the trend develops your profits also grow more rapidly .
Surely getting aboard a trend and hanging on tight is one of most lucrative parts of trading. If your education has taught you nothing else, you should have knowedge that your style of stock trading course trend formation is a fundamental building block of a system for trading .
You may think this sounds good, but how is entry to a trend timed ? And how do you manage a trade in a trending market ?
Trends are all different , some are slow and some are fast and others are old and some are young .
First we will consider the fresh new trend . There has been congestion in the market for awhile, if you’re a swing trader perhaps for days, or for many hours if you are a day trader . The congestion parameters are quite clear . Then suddenly there is a change in conditions , frequently (but not always) news driven . The market starts to move rapidly on one direction .
This is when fast action needs to be taken . Get in the trends direction as fast as possible and then hang on . The point you enter is less important than you jumping in. This move will last for days or hours so it’s better to get in as soon as possible ! You can buy into this trend as it breaks the congestion parameters or as the next bar goes up to the top of trading bands . If the trend is real and has new energy to it, for some time you probably won’t see deep retracements !
Compare this to a trend that is mature . Is it possible to get on board? Sure it is , but if the energy is “mature” and starting to lose a bit of its oomph , you need to be more careful with the techniques for entry. If this occurs you should look out for a pause in this trend, a retracement of price to the midline at the very least . Look at the higher time period to ensure you have enough potential left, enough to make it worth entering this no-longer-fresh trend .
If you are uncertain about these guidelines some time spent examining a chart will surely bring your understanding to a higher level . And most people can get advantages from looking at stock trading course in a good course, as they hone their entry and exit skills .
Entering and exciting congestions will be our next topic .
